Outdoor Recreation

Healing happens in God’s creation. Spread across 75 acres of peaceful grounds, The Healing Center offers abundant opportunities to restore body, mind, and spirit outdoors. Clients can stroll along walking trails, enjoy a round on our disk-golf course, spend quiet moments by the ponds while fishing, or visit with our horses for a calming, therapeutic connection. Every building is designed to flood with natural light, blending the beauty of the outdoors with the comfort of our state-of-the-art facilities—creating a setting where true renewal can take place.

The difference maker for The Healing Center

By focusing on the five principles, The Healing Center is seeking to fill in the gaps many other client recovery centers are missing. Community is one of the biggest holes for addicts when they leave treatment. While they’re in a facility, they are safe, they make friends, and they have accountability and a plan. But when they get home, they’re on their own, and they often return to the only community they know — other addicts.

Healing Through Community

The Healing Center will provide men and women with biblical community and healing that lasts. When clients come in, they will be placed in small groups made up of three clients at The Healing Center and a fourth member from outside the program who will serve as a spiritual mentor. They will walk together twice a week, ask each other tough questions, and share their trauma history.

Recovery By Addressing The Mind & Body

Despite addiction’s impact on overall health, standard recovery models often focus more on the removal of substances than the addition of important nutritional habits such as diet and exercise. Mind and body are inextricably connected, and some experts estimate that as much as 90 percent of mental illness is made up of bad habits, a bad mind, and a bad gut.

On-Staff Dietitian for Healthy Nutritional Habit Building

Most treatment facilities do not employ dietitians, but the on-staff registered dietitian at The Healing Center will create menus, handle dietary restrictions, manage food suppliers, and teach clients how to incorporate long-term nutritional changes into their lives.

Our Caring & Professional Staff

The men and women loving and caring for the clients will be highly qualified staff equipped to offer tools, teaching, and, most importantly, compassionate care. Two of these positions include a medical director (MD) who will visit clients weekly to check on medications and overall well-being, and a psychiatrist who will be on call for crisis response.

Evidence-based Recovery

Many recovery and rehab facilities include therapy and counseling, but clients are often limited to a certain number of sessions per month or only one or two types of therapy. At The Healing Center, each client will see both a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC). Clients will undergo both evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, and non-evidence-based therapies, such as faith and groundbreaking trauma therapy.

Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists

Staff on site will be certified peer recovery support specialists (PRSS) and will function as group leaders, intake coordinators, and 24-hour facility monitors. None of the staff members will be prescribing medication, as The Healing Center will not be incorporating medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Many treatment facilities receive government funding to use medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone to help reduce cravings and prevent withdrawal. Forgoing such medications allows Hope is Alive to put faith front and center in the healing process.

A welcome entry into the world of lifelong sobriety

Peaceful, plentiful, and planned with intention to nurture every client every single day of their stay, The Healing Center is a welcome entry into the world of lifelong sobriety. There is hope. There is help. There is healing.
